Pet Of The Month: Bailie Belle
Bailie Belle
Below is a note from Bailie Belle, a special dog who has been a long-time patient at Crossroads Animal Hospital. She will be dearly missed by all!
"I'm Bailie Belle. My mom is Marcia. My Mom is quite sad as Monday I left her and joined my big sister, Chelsie Anne. I have not been well. I have lost a lot of weight (would have given any model or actress a run for her money on who was thinner), I haven't been able to hear or walk well for a long time, and on top of that I dislocated my hip on Sunday.
I had the best big sister - she let me steal her toys, push her off the steps into the rose bush so I could get in the house first, and dug up Mom's tulips while I cheered her on. She also taught me how to be a house puppy, she let me bite her ear so she could carry me around while I dangled from her ear, but no matter how hard I tried, she never did let me have the Fiero console seat.
Mom loved my rock swallowing trophies (she calls them the $2500 and $500 rocks), my ability to chew only the newest and/or most expensive pieces of furniture (the new leather couch, the antique hand-carved chest, the plugged-in TV electrical cord), and how I hopped like the Energizer Bunny while still wagging my tail.
I've had so many friends. All of Mom's friends who played with me and brought me treats and toys, the outstanding doctors and staff at Crossroads Animal Hospital and the wonderful doctors at the University Veterinary Clinic who took such good care of me, and the groomers who bathed me weekly. And of course, I loved it when Mom went to Bone Adventure and bought me numerous beds, toys, and hats and coats for all types of weather.
I have missed Chelsie terribly. I know my mom is missing me but I needed to join Chelsie as she has been alone for over two years now (although Mom told me Chelsie was with Maggie Mae, that beautiful tortoiseshell Calico cat).
I have to go now - I see Chelsie and she has the ball! I have to get it from her. Oh, I can hear! And I can run! I can even bark!
Bye Mom, and bye to all my friends, doctors and staff, and groomers."
