Grooming

Grooming is an important and necessary aspect of regular pet care. Not only does good grooming help keep cats, dogs and other animals looking great, it helps to keep them happy and healthy as well. In addition, in an area where ticks thrive, is it doubly important to keep outdoor pets clean and well-brushed. Ticks can carry damaging diseases, so regularly checking outdoor pets for their presence is important. Medicated baths are available to rid animals of ticks and fleas.

There are no breed restrictions. Any pet can benefit from the careful attention of our professional groomers. Every breed of dog and cat is different, so the grooming for each pet is unique. We can recommend a grooming routine for your pet.

Here are a couple helpful hints for you and your pet to note before coming in for your Pet Grooming Appointment:

If you have a young puppy or kitten, acquaint it with grooming early to insure an easy process from the start.
Also, as your pet is already at the clinic this is a great time to arrange to have a veterinary exam and update any necessary vaccinations, heartworm checks, etc. while they are there!

Dog Grooming

At Crossroads, we are happy to have the mother and daughter team of Lynda and Kristi as our dog groomers. Together they bring their caring, dedicated attitudes and special skills in grooming for your pets.

Dogs have been a huge part of Lynda’s life! She has been a professional groomer for 39 years, owns and breeds Schnauzers, was an AKC dog show handler for many years, and still shows her own dogs.

Kristi has been professionally grooming pets for 6 years and enjoys her job tremendously.

All grooming appointments include:

A bath, clip and brush
A nail trim
Ear cleaning/ear canal plucking if necessary
A bandana
Anal gland expression is available at an additional $5.00 charge

Dog grooming appointments are available on Wednesdays. To schedule grooming for your pet, please contact Kristi directly at Crossroads Animal Hospital. She will be happy to discuss any particular grooming requirements for your dog.

Cat Grooming

For cats, our veterinary technicians can bathe, groom or do a shave down, if and when necessary. (This may require anesthesia.)
